Q: How does GHF select its beneficiaries?
A: GHF has a process of selection which involves consultations with local community leaders, administered preliminary questionnaires, a bank qualification process, and follow-up personal interviews.
Q: Where do housing materials come from?
A: Local contractors and materials are utilized at selected sites. This helps stimulate the local work force and economy, which in turn helps the development of the over-all area.
Q: How long does it take to build a house?
A: Each home takes approximately six to eight weeks to construct.
Q: How do the houses weather in various terrains?
A: Building guidelines at each international location require a tailored contract that meets local weather protection standards. GHF and UN-HABITAT has developed standards for each continent.
